Amy Mackelden is Weekend Editor at ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR, and Marie Claire.

She recaps Riverdale and American Horror Story for Harper’s BAZAAR, and writes freelance for HelloFlo, Greatist, and Ravishly. She’s also written for Byrdie, The Independent, Hello Giggles, Cosmopolitan, SeventeenELLE Decor, heat, and New Statesman, and she was previously an Entertainment Writer at Bustle.

In 2017, she began work on #SQUADGOALS, a collaboration with Brooklyn-based artist Elizabeth Grammaticas, funded by the Artists’ International Development Fund.

She was recently selected as a member of BFI Network x Bafta Crew 2017.

She spoke at KIMPOSIUM!, the world’s first academic conference about all things Kardashian at Brunel University, in November 2015,

She co-edits feminism & pop culture blog Clarissa Explains Fuck All, and co-founded Northern poetry magazine Butcher’s Dog.

Amy is a disability activist, and was featured in the MS Society’s MS: Enough campaign, and was a Lay Member of the MS Trust Steering Group MS Forward View throughout 2016.

She’s completed two R & D phases for her new show MS Is My Boyfriend, with producer Degna Stone. The R & D included residencies at the ExCeL in London, and at Live Theatre in Newcastle, and featured a work-in-progress performance at PULSE Festival 2017. Both phases were supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
