Workshops & Writing Groups

You can book Amy to run a one-off workshop or a longer course on any aspect of Creative Writing, including blogging, performance, poetry, microfiction, scriptwriting, and editing.

Amy has been teaching Creative Writing for 8 years, and has worked with schools, colleges, universities, local councils, charities, art galleries, New Writing North, The Prince’s Foundation for Children and the Arts, and The Poetry Society. She was a regular tutor with the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) in Newcastle upon Tyne for 6 years, where she taught a range of courses for mainstream and SEN learners.

She currently runs a weekly Young Writers group on the Isle of Wight called The Anon Writers. The group is organised by Independent Arts and funded by Wight Aid.

PGCE (PCET) from Sunderland University (2010)

MA in the Teaching & Practice of Creative Writing from Cardiff University (2006)

BA 2:1 in English Literature from Cardiff University (2006)

Makaton for Professionals (Foundation and Enhancement)

Amy has QTLS, a recent DBS certificate, and Public Liability Insurance from NAWE.
